Help Wa3Rix Project Mixed Edition 2.3.6 Windows 8

Whenever I try to activate an option it weirdly freezs as it doesnt freeze I can still see everything fine but my character is like frozen and I cant alt tab nor disable the process in taskmanager,

Im running the game in compatibility mode for windows 98/me or it will just crash.
